No more water shortage in Darjeeling

Darjeeling residents have reason to stay happy from now onwards.

The Centre recently sanctioned Rs 155 crore to proper the water distribution in Darjeeling.

This project comprises of laying of new pipes and 35 tanks across the town and city.

This Rs 155 crore project aims to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and to drop the nightmare called “shortage of water“.

Also around 2 million gallons of water can be expected from this project, say experts!

With the commence of this project Subdivisional officer of Darjeeling signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) along with the Central and state government.

The authorities also have to look up for the issue of influential people illegally acquiring the water supply resulting in the improper water supply to normal citizens.
